With a positive forward workload, we have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our Resources and Manufacturing team in Brisbane. The role will be contributing to our resources and manufacturing projects which focus in the areas of bulk materials handling facilities, bulk storage structures, mobile machines, process plants, mine infrastructure and general infrastructure for industry.

Although based in Brisbane, the role will also provide the opportunity to support and engage with Aurecon teams from around Australia.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of engineering designs, calculations, specifications and reports.
  • Work in collaboration with other disciplines to deliver large and complex projects
  • Assist with the preparation of tender submissions and other work winning activities
  • Undertaking site inspections and associated reporting
  • Ensure designs and site works are safe and compliant with all relevant safety standards
  • Continue to develop specialist industrial structures and bulk materials handling engineering skills

For this position the candidate shall possess:

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering, and active path to RPEQ
  • Ideally 2- 5 years of experience in the design of structures in the industrial and mining sectors
  • Excellent understanding of Australian Standards
  • Strong ability to use structural software packages such as Spacegass, Strand7, Staad Pro, ANSYS etc
  • Programming and/or scripting skills (e.g Python, Matlab, VBA, C++) not essential but highly regarded
  • Be capable of building relationships and working in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical report writing
  • Proven ability to deliver appropriate engineering solutions within a specified time frame
  • Flexibility to travel to project locations across Queensland and Australia
  • Strong client and safety focus
