Aurecon's Health and Safety Unit in Tshwane is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Business Partner to assist the Health and Safety Leader, Africa with the effective implementation and management of corporate management systems and project compliance.  This is a great opportunity to join a global engineering consultancy that brings ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and promote the Aurecon Health and Safety Management System within your area of designation.
  • Review the effectiveness of the health and safety measures within your area of designation.
  • Assist in the assessment of potential hazards to the health and safety of the employees within your area of designation.
  • Investigate the causes of incidents within your area of designation, and all complaints from the employees within your area of designation, relating to their health and safety.
  • Inspect and audit the workplaces and report on such to the Regional Management, and assist in closing out of any serious health and safety non-compliances.
  • Provide guidance and advice to the regional offices on Health and Safety matters.
  • Provide health and safety statistics and incidents trends in order to proactively manage Aurecon incidents.
  • Provide training on risk assessments, safety awareness, incident reporting and general Aurecon HSMS.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Health and Safety – i.e. NADSAM, B.Sc. degree, Environmental Health, Nebosh 3 year, or equivalent
  • Experience in corporate health and safety – 7 years
  • Experience in construction health and safety – 3 years
  • Proven experience in developmental work such as H&S training material, procedures, management plans
  • Additional courses such as COMSOC, SAMTRAC etc.
  • Legal Liability training – Obtained from an accredited NQF registered training facility
  • Incident Investigation Techniques – Obtained from an accredited NQF registered training facility
  • HIRA (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment)  – Obtained from an accredited NQF registered training facility
  • Must be in possession of a valid medical fitness certificate or obtain medical clearance.
  • Valid driver’s licence with at least 5 years accident free driving
  • Person must be fluent in English
  • Computer Literate (MS Office / Outlook) – Practical experience will be tested for advanced skills level
  • SACPCMP registration / or proof of application
