Health & Safety Auditor
Responsibilities:
- Managing a team of OHS auditors
- Quality control
- Client liaison
- Performing health and safety inspections and audits
- Hazard identification and risk assessment
- Ability to integrate health and safety through all levels of the organization
- Training is an important part of achieving a raised level of awareness towards health and safety and in turn the reduction of injury
- The position requires travelling within South Africa
- Investigation of accidents and incidents
- Recommendations to management through monthly safety meetings / minutes and monthly risk control reports to the respective managers
- Identify health and safety training requirements
Qualifications/Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in construction Regulations
- Have a recognized safety certification such as SAMTRAC/ Modern SHEQ Management course
- Registered with a recognized health and safety professional body
- Knowledge of OHS Act and Regulations
- Knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessment and training
Skills / Competencies:
- IRCA / NOSA courses e.g. Accredited CAP auditing techniques, developing and implementing OHSAS 18001
Safety, Health and Hygiene management
- Environmental management would be an advantage
- Accident investigation techniques, i.e. IRCA
- Comprehensive knowledge of the MHSA / OHSA / COID
- Ability to train personnel and clients in OHS subjects
- MS Office above average essential
